Where: Durham

What: Kitchen Worktop Installation.

Traditional meets modern with this entertainment kitchen installation, featuring standard drainer grooves, and a typical sink run with 100mm high coved upstands. We added a contemporary twist with sleek gable end panels and an urban Axix 500 stainless steel sink with colour-matched Corian sides. The renovation showcased a huge showstopping island over 4 meters long in the statement Corian colour Grey Onyx, which homed an Axix 450 sink with boiling cooker tap and pop-up plug sockets. This incredible transformation challenged boundaries that couldn’t be achieved with other traditional kitchen worktop products, all while creating a unique family-fun environment for the customer.

Why Solid Surface:

For over two decades we have been fabricating, supplying, and installing solid surface kitchen work surfaces, because of the non-porous and easy-to-clean nature of acrylic-based countertops, they are the ideal material for both traditional and modern kitchen transformations. As years have gone by kitchen designs have become increasingly outrageous and contemporary, therefore solid surface has had to keep up with impressive new trends. This particular kitchen countertop transformation involved an island over 4 meters long, the standard sheet size of 12mm Corian is 3660 x 760mm so using a material like Corian which enables the fabricator to join the sheet material to achieve the desired length and width is vital. While you can easily do this with other materials such as granite or quartz, the beauty of Corian and so many other solid surface brands is the fact we can join the sheet material seamlessly with no visible joins to the eye or to the touch. With patterns such as Grey Onyx, which is heavily veined and directional, our skilled fabricators ensure the material is cut in a way that any potential joins are minimised, expertly matching the different shades and pigments of the chosen material.
